funny stuff/bad decisions
I know this site is a bummer, but I had to point it out. http://www.horribletattoos.blogspot.com/
Fritz Haeg in the Whitney Bi
Awesome stuff. Way to go. Fritz Haeg is a Los Angelite who lives and architects in a geo dome on a big hill over looking the 2 freeway and has a sick yard. I was lucky to be a participating artist in one of his sundown salons in '06. Look him up, he does interesting stuff and to add to it is in this years Whitney Bienielle (www.whitney.org).

Salon numero 3
Thank you so much to Brad, Jeff, Cody, and Johnny for an awesome night. I can't believe I am able to be a part of these nights. Brad read us stories and talked about his epic abstractions, Johnny sang great, sappy love songs, Jeff did an interactive walk through his site of angry working man poems and Cody read his poems about the Fed. It was warm and funny and really special and I thank all of you who came. 'Till the next one.

Next Salon

Yeah dude. Next salon is March 15th. The illusive James Scarborough, writer in such unheard of rags as Frieze and Flash Art, Brad Eberhard who makes amazing paintings and great punk rock, Johnny Hanson who makes awesome music and Jeff Lytle whom Chris swears is a great Portlandian poet will all be showing off in 2 Saturdays. So be there or be a square. (seriously don't douche out on this one art kids, you'll be missing something good)
New show afoot
So this week I pulled out most (minus 8 paintings at church and 3 at home) of what I have painted in the 12 months since my M.F.A. show for my gallery folks (Heather and Alex) to come for a studio visit. It felt rad to see a years worth of work. And the icing is they offered me a show for spring '09. BITCHEN. So that's the new jammer, Taylor De Cordoba, Spring 2009, wooooord.
New board
So Bird helped me wax up my new board. I get excited enough to write about it because of the adventure. So my dad stumbles across this shop in Encinada and it is sick, full of San Miguel boards of great shape. We go back down and order a board. 2 months later the guy says he'll bring it up to San Diego and will meet me at the "sports arena". I think Padre stadium, wait 3 hours, just to find out he's at Charger stadium. I know nothing about San Diego, but adventure my way around town till an hour later I found him, with my new board. YES. It rides like YES. Earl and I took it out at head high Seal and it is super fun.

Eric's Salton Sea Adventure
Well it's been a long time blogospherists. Eric Trine orchestrated an amazing field trip to the Salton Sea 2 weekends ago. A bunch of artistic kids, eating, drinking, philosophizing, talking about God, life, art, etc. Then we went on a huge Exoduslike hike, found an old pool at an old yacht club and skated and drew all over the building with paint and paint pens. The Salton Sea is 200 ft. below sea level which makes a new kind of atmosphere so when I woke up at night and saw a full moon Mars night swirling with rain and clouds and dust I almost had a shit. Thanks Eric. Awesome desert epicness. Vern recorded a lot of it on 8mm so check out hobosoul.com and see if he has posted footage.
