Buy-Sellf

The French art collective Buy-Sellf brings the noise with some really interesting art/projects/products, like a tubular ping pong table, pedestrian half pipe or the cardboard fireplace and mantle. The ped. half pipe is going to be re-fabricated at our museum in June for an exhibition and will be placed outside on the sculpture deck. www.buy-sellf.com for more images.

Alison O'Daniel

I'm digging on the projects and objects made by Alison O'Daniel. Visit www.alisonodaniel.com to see more work. "Double Dutch Will Take You Higher" is pretty epic.

I am really stoked. As I posted below I thought the film was great so to have them come and screen it Wooord.

Chuck Close Tapestry - Weaving proofs

So thanks to Chuck Close's studio, the fine folks at Pace, and the super fine folks at Magnolia Editions in Oakland, we will be exhibiting the tapestry being weaved and shown in these videos. The piece will be in our January self portraiture show. This thing is massive and it is amazing to watch the insanity that is the loom. The video below with the 3 picture piece being woven is roughly a third of the piece in its entirety.

Statement...

The work I have been making for the last couple of years is primarily about conceptual and pictoral exploration. Following rabbit holes of ideas, visual stimuli, process, pictoral structure, and what it looks like when I trace my time by having said traced time manifested visually or situationally. My work varies with each new smaller project that I am working on but the above umbrella is how I work. My overall artistic project is less about a rigid research of a few well articulated ideas, and much more about “maybes” and “what ifs”. Theology, philosophy, freedom, and the like, have metaphors that lie dormant waiting to be discovered and brought to light, and art making is where I find these most often.
