Winsconsin ginsing root??


This tea has been sort of blowing my mind lateley. I scavanged it out of the back of the beverage cupboard at work and it is bland and odd but amazing and who knew such quality herb root came from the heartland.

Mark Dutcher (and a long hiatious)




Oh my sweet, sweet blog, it has been a long while of painting, kids, and work, work, work.
So I ran across an image (the gold x) on You Have Been Here Sometime (awesome blog) and it inspired me to do a post on Mark Dutcher who is a painter that I get so fired up about. Mark has a piece in this month's show at my gallery and he was included in our Rant show a few months ago. I love looking at what this guy makes. He's been painting for years (I liken him to a Chris Martin type who was always making work that people are just catching up to). Color, shape, generosity, not giving a crap-ness but in an honest non ironic way. Mmm, Mmm. See more of Marks work at http://www.steveturnercontemporary.com/. Statement...

The work I have been making for the last couple of years is primarily about conceptual and pictoral exploration. Following rabbit holes of ideas, visual stimuli, process, pictoral structure, and what it looks like when I trace my time by having said traced time manifested visually or situationally. My work varies with each new smaller project that I am working on but the above umbrella is how I work. My overall artistic project is less about a rigid research of a few well articulated ideas, and much more about “maybes” and “what ifs”. Theology, philosophy, freedom, and the like, have metaphors that lie dormant waiting to be discovered and brought to light, and art making is where I find these most often.
